We are currently seeking a Business Unit Manager to join our team in Sydney.  

The Business Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end service for all customers within the Business Unit. This involves order progression, overseas office and agent follow up, routing, procurement (branch accounts), cost and sell tariff maintenance (including regular and timely reviews) and customer engagement in conjunction with the Business Unit Manager through reporting, KPI oversight, QBR’s and regular service calls.

Your purpose:

  • Be the heart of your Team, leading team members and delivering customer satisfaction

  • Ensure efficient flow of custom clearance transactions through the business unit in line with company policy on processing times and procedures

  • Identifying areas for improvement and proposing new solutions

  • Provide guidance, motivation and support to all staff within the business unit

  • Induction & training of new staff within the business unit

  • Customer Implementation for Business Unit

  • Dispute and issues resolution relating to service

  • Establish a client visitation program for all business unit accounts

  • Demonstrate strong awareness and understanding of financial management and cost controls for clients under supervision

  • Ensure that all jobs are invoiced out (disbursement and final) in a timely manner

  • Manage department productivity

You'll bring:

  • Knowledge of freight forwarding and accountancy practices a distinct advantage

  • Leadership successes with a minimum of 5 years’ experience

  • Customer services and commercial exposure such as quoting and rate negotiation

  • Lean Processes

  • Experience with CargoWise preferred
