Business Analyst

Contract to 31/12/2026 with possible extension |Brisbane CBD | Hybrid working

We are partnering with a leading Queensland Government to recruit an experienced Business Analyst. In this role you will analyse business needs and collaborate with stakeholders to support the development of systems designed to improve the department’s internal digital systems.

Key responsibilities:

Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Lead stakeholder workshops to gather information for analysis and to create a clear set of business requirements for a new system.
Document and map current state and required future state processes and user stories.
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure that the system functions meet end-user needs.
Facilitate the development of new digital systems that support business objectives and enhance productivity.
Collaborate with Program Manager and cross functional teams to ensure that business analysis activities align with project goals and timelines.
Participate in project planning sessions and provide business analysis expertise to inform project decision-making.

What we’re looking for?

You understand the impacts of historical and contemporary policy and practices upon Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You have a demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively, and with humility, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
A high level of proficiency in business analysis techniques and tools.
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to solve complex issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in applying PRINCE2, agile or SAFe project management methodologies.
