About the role

DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Pre-Contracts Manager, based in Melbourne, Sydney or Melbourne, to directly support the growth of our national Rail Operations. As part of the Rail Operations senior leadership team, this role will be responsible for leading, directing and coordinating work winning and business development.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the 5-year Business Plan for the national Rail business.
  • Achieve Business Plan / Program objectives through high performance goals set in collaboration with the Rail senior leadership team.
  • Manage and coordinate business development opportunities across Rail clients.
  • Manage tender teams to ensure tenders are delivered in alignment with the annual tender budget.
  • Oversee development of tenders including pricing, written content, methodology and submission schedule.
  • Mentor and support key bid personnel to ensure an engaged and productive team.
  • Escalation point to resolve issues and confirm the way forward for tendering activity.
  • Work with Commercial Management team on contract reviews and identification of risk, commercial qualifications and term & condition departures.
Experience and capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years in rail programs/projects $5m to $75m+.
  • Related experience in a similar role preferably within a rail business.
  • Demonstrable experience working to tight time frames in a changing environment and ability to work under pressure and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Outcome focused, hands on, operational, with good technical capability.
  • Self‑motivated with good planning skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to build solid understanding of business priorities to deliver high standard of effective and integrated solutions and winning proposals.
