Your new role:

As an Administration Officer within Specialist Outpatients, you will play a vital role in supporting patients, visitors and clinical teams by delivering efficient, accurate and customer-focused administrative services across a fast-paced healthcare environment, including:

  • Providing high-level administrative support, records management and data entry services.
  • Managing patient appointments, waitlists, bookings, cancellations and rescheduling activities.
  • Supporting referral processing and patient flow through specialist outpatient clinics.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and demographic information across multiple information systems.
  • Assisting with Medicare billing and administrative functions within the department.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, visitors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Working across multiple clinic locations as required while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
  • Contributing to quality, compliance and records management processes.
About you:

You are a proactive and organised administration professional who thrives in a busy healthcare environment and is committed to delivering outstanding service, with:

  • Demonstrated experience in administrative and office support functions.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with a compassionate and professional approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using healthcare information systems such as HBCIS, SRWS, ieMR, PowerChart and ESM (highly regarded).
  • The ability to work autonomously, show initiative and adapt to changing demands.
  • A strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality and quality outcomes.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and Specialist Outpatient services (desirable).

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
