Accountant

The Accountant will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of Banhams WA by maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and compliance requirements. This role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity of financial data and supporting informed business decision-making.

You will work closely with management to analyse financial performance, monitor cash flow, and assist with taxation and statutory obligations. The role also involves maintaining accounting systems, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial reports, management accounts, and supporting financial records to assist business decision-making.
• Monitor budgets, analyse financial performance, and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure the accuracy of accounting records, account reconciliations, and compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Assist with taxation obligations, cash flow management, financial forecasting, and the preparation of financial documentation.
• Develop and maintain effective accounting systems, internal controls, and financial procedures to support business operations and compliance.

Qualification & experience

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
