Working within the ANDRITZ Hydropower division in Sydney you will be joining one of the world's leading suppliers of electromechanical equipment and services for hydropower stations in the dynamically growing global renewable energy market.

We are seeking a part-time Assistant Accountant with a hands-on mentality to support our finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks. This role is ideal for a university student or early-career finance professional looking to gain hands-on experience in a global engineering and renewable energy business.
Key responsibilities:
Process accounts payable and receivable, including data entry and invoice matching.
Assist with bank reconciliations and general ledger postings.
Support month-end closing activities (accruals, journal entries, reconciliations).
Maintain accurate electronic filing and financial records.
Assist with expense claims, corporate card reconciliations.
Help prepare basic financial reports and spreadsheets for the Finance Manager.
Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers regarding invoicing and payment queries.
We’re seeking someone with:
A recently completed or currently studying a qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a bookkeeper in Australia.
Strong hands-on experience with Excel and Xero is essential.
Knowledge of SAP or similar accounting ERP systems would be beneficial.
High attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Confident dealing with payroll, BAS and multiple systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural environment.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to analyse and solve problems efficiently.
