About the Role: 

LDAssurance is seeking a full-time External Auditor to join our growing professional services team in Victoria. The role involves conducting external audits, financial reviews, and assurance activities for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries.

Salary: AUD $70,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities: 

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute financial audits in accordance with auditing standards
  • Review financial statements, accounting records, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Analyse financial documents and data to assess the accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
  • Identify areas of financial risk and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, and provide recommendations to mitigate identified risks
  • Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Present audit results to clients and senior management
  • Collaborating with clients to gather necessary documentation and information
  • Providing guidance on financial reporting and accounting practices
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards and regulations
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of audit plans and strategies
  • Supporting the audit team with various tasks as needed
  • Maintain effective communication with clients throughout the audit process and provide guidance and support on financial reporting and accounting practices

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline
  • Completion of, or progress toward completion of, the Chartered Accountants (CA) Program.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant audit experience, including structured on-the-job training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using cloud-based accounting and audit software, including CaseWare or similar audit packages.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop and maintain effective client relationships.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work collaboratively within a professional team environment.
  • A genuine commitment to continuous learning and ongoing professional development within the auditing and accounting field.
