About the Role

Macono Orthodontic Laboratories Pty Ltd is a well-established dental laboratory based in Mosman, NSW. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis.

The Accountant is responsible for providing strategic financial analysis, budgeting, and performance reporting to support informed business decision-making. The role focuses on improving financial efficiency, ensuring compliance, and supporting the organisation’s operational and growth objectives. This role plays a key part in financial management, supporting operational performance and strategic decision-making.

Task & responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements to support business performance evaluation and decision-making. 
  • Monitor financial performance and contribute to financial forecasting and budgeting processes. 
  • Contribute to the development of financial reports and management dashboards to support performance tracking, managerial decisions, and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with management to align financial plans with operational and strategic business objectives. 
  • Maintain and oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.  
  • Oversee inventory and asset management, ensuring effective tracking and utilization of business resources. 
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) in compliance with GST and PAYG obligations. 
  • Maintain internal financial controls and support adherence to regulatory and ATO requirements.  
  • Liaise with external accountants and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting. 
  • Analyze costs associated with products and services to support pricing strategies and profitability analysis. 
  • Monitor cash flow and contribute to financial planning activities to support business sustainability. 
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support informed decision-making and business performance improvement initiatives.  

Qualification & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting regulations
  • Proficiency in MYOB and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-finance stakeholders.
