This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.

The successful candidate will assist with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, invoice processing, payroll support, and maintaining financial documentation. Strong attention to detail, sound numerical skills, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential for this position.

Task & responsibilities

Ledger Management: Maintain and process comprehensive documentation for accounts payable and receivable ledgers to ensure financial integrity.
Banking & Postings: Prepare bank deposits, reconcile monthly statements, and accurately post entries into the general ledger.
Transaction Oversight: Summarize and report on financial transactions, including detailed tracking of expenditure and receipts.
Record Integrity: Establish and maintain robust accounting documents and digital records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Cost Accounting & Budgetary Analysis:

Expenditure Control: Allocate expenditure to designated budget accounts and monitor for alignment with organizational financial plans.
Cost Investigation: Calculate, analyze, and investigate the costs of proposed expenditures, wages, and standard operational costs.
Budgetary Support: Compile and synthesize cost data for the preparation of operating budgets and the calculation of profit and loss outcomes.
Market Analysis: Record and report on cost variations, contract price fluctuations, and standard values for raw materials and supplies.

Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement:

Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports detailing total costs, inventory adjustments, selling prices, and net profits.
Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex invoice discrepancies through detailed auditing of financial records.
Inquiry Management: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external account queries, providing professional resolutions and estimates.

Qualification & experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant qualification
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels
Minimum 2 years relevant accounting experience
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
Ability to analyse financial data and interpret trends
Well organised with strong attention to detail
